Bands that sing in Spanish?

Songs consist of meter and rhyming stanzas (many do, anyway). That alone makes songs an unrealistic source of sentences that you can readily use (we don't normally speak in rhyme and our sentences don't usually contain the same amount of syllables). Because the lyrics fit the meter of the song, translations into other languages will seldom produce a song with the same meaning. In English, we have many one-syllable words. That means we can generally pack about 5 to 6 words into a stanza. That isn't possible in Spanish, which has many words with two or more syllables each.

This particular band does a good job, trying hard to keep the same meaning across translation. That's why there are more syllables in this version than there are in the English version.
It's nice that the lyrics are displayed as it goes along, and that they are spelled correctly! That is rare.

The song will help you with ear training. To understand what is being said, you'll need to learn a lot of vocabulary, verb conjugation and grammar. But that's your goal, right?

There's at least one error in the lyrics, by the way, and it's repeated more than once. See if you can catch it as you study the lyrics while listening intently.

Umm ok probably wrong but is it the "Que" it is repeated twice or three times in the chorus'?

When I said that the error was repeated, my statement encompassed the entire song.
The error appears in the chorus, which repeats, but if you look closely, you'll discover that the chorus changes.

Ahh is it the "sola" it sometimes changes to "solo" in the chorus and sorry I misunderstood you Rusty this has got to be it :)

That is the error, yes. :thumbsup: :)

The adjective should remain the same in the chorus because the subject remains the same. Adjectives agree in gender and number with the noun they modify.

Um I think it's supposed to be "solo". Cause that is what that lyric should translate to english. I hope that's right if not then I have learnt something if it is right then I have already learnt that .

You're both right and wrong.
I've had you chasing a red herring of sorts, because both 'solo' and 'sola' are correct.
It depends on whether you're reading the lyrics, like I did, or whether you're listening to the lyrics.

Listen carefully once again to who is singing when the two different adjectives are used.

When a boy is singing the words of the chorus, he is addressing the opposite sex - porque sola no estás (because you are not alone).
When a girl is singing, she is addressing the opposite sex - porque solo no estás (because you are not alone).

Who is not alone? You.
In English, we stop there. We have no requirement to make the adjective 'alone' agree with the subject 'you'.
In Spanish, we do have this requirement.

The person speaking (or singing) the words "because you are not alone" knows the gender of the addressed person and declines the adjective accordingly.

How cool is that?
The Spanish language has the capability to distinguish gender at more levels than English. I hope you'll remember this during your studies of the language. It is vital information.
