Hi all,

I'm learning spanish but i'm in the beginning and have to use google translations.
This sentence is very important for me, i will write that to my best girlfriend as signature in a book and therefore its important for me that is grammatically in the right form. :)

Thank you for being the torch in my life and
guiding me home.

Mil gracias por ser la antorcha en mi vida y
guiándome casa.

Casa is wrong i guess, cause in my understanding its the same as house and not in the meaning of the sentence.

Thank you for your help.

Automatic translators are no way to learn a language, but in this case, the meaning is conveyed albeit awkwardly.

yes i'm aware of that, and i use rosetta stone for learning, but 'Esto es de madera' or 'La mujer lleva sombrero.' aren't of use in this case, so help is very much appreciated.

Good try, even though you used a machine. You must have added 'mil' on your own.
Mil Gracias por ser la antorcha de/en mi vida y por
guiarme a casa.[/I]Just like you used (or the machine provided) 'por ser', you must rely on the same grammatical construct in the coordinated clause.

Welcome to the forums!

Thank you Rusty, :-)

Yes 'mil' is my addition. ;-)
So is this version correct?:
Infinitas gracias por ser la antorcha en mi vida y por guiarme a casa.

Thanks also for the grammatical instruction.
Rosetta Stone is without grammatical explanation, so i would need extra lessons i guess.

Using 'mil' is more popular than 'infinitas'. I removed 'mil' because it doesn't agree with the English translation.
