Cómo se dice
"This year during a summer school, a boy drowned. The teachers took each class to the pool each day for swimming classes and on the first day it happened. My friends worked there, so told me about it. The police got called in and there was a massive investigation into what happened and and if one person in particular was to blame. As well as the teachers that had taken the class to the pool, there were lifeguards there too, obviously they weren't doing their job properly"
Another thing happened to do with water this summer that has made me more careful at watching the kids and given me more respect for the water. One day I went to some friends house with my family. They live in the mountains and have have a pool. They had invited lots of people, so we were a big group, the majority with kids. My friends let the kids go in the pool, expecting that the parents would watch the kids. At one point I was chatting with a friend but out of the corner of my eye I saw a boy in the water, with his head and hands out of the water then he went under the water but then he came up out of the water again but then went under again. I thought he was just playing as he was there with other boys that were messing about too and as all the adults around the pool weren't doing anything I thought he must be alright so I carried on chatting. I looked again and thought something doesn't seem right here so I went nearer the pool and at the same time another guy started looking at the boy and asked me if he knew how to swim, which I didn't know. Then suddenly the boy went completley under but this time didn't resurface, I shouted to my friend "Grab him" so he jumped in the pool and pulled him out. By this time the parents appeared, they had been a few meters from the pool chatting and hadn't noticed any of. The boy was ok but very shaken up."
"You'll see within 3 months they willl be swimming"
"You keep it, I can't think of anyone I could give it to" (A friend offering something to me for myself or anyone else that I knew that might like it)
"Tu ("keep it") No puedo pensar a quien lo podría dar"
"To keep" something I don't know how to say is it "guardalo" that is the only thing I can think of but that suggests out it away not "keep it"
Gracias
