@Jellybabe: Depending on the region, for "bug", when we don't know if it's a virus or another kind of infectious being, we can say "bicho" or "microbio". :)

Bicho in the Caribbean (Puerto Rico in particular) is a rude word. More likely you will hear un flu or un gripe even if it's not the flu.
