Hi,

I’m a new member. I’ve recently started learning Spanish and have received an e-mail from a new Spanish friend. There are two sentences I’m stuck on. I’d be really grateful for any help.

I think I’ve managed to roughly translate them but I’m also trying to get an understanding of their context. I suppose I want to get an idea of the level of intimacy implied before responding with too many enthusiastic "besos" :D

In the first sentence he thanked me for visiting him and then said – “fue de lo mas agradable ;) ”

Does this mean it was “most enjoyable?” or “more than enjoyable”?
I’m also unsure of the meaning of agradable in this context – is it nice/pleasant/enjoyable?

The other sentence is “estamos en contacto un abrazo enorme!!!”

I think estamos en contacto means keep in touch – is that right?
But is “un abrazo enorme” a big hug? Or would that be abrazo grande?

Thank you

poli

This.

"Besos" ("kisses") / "abrazos" ("hugs") are common expressions in Spain. Sometimes it means nothing, sometimes mean friendship, sometimes love. It depends. For example, I write kisses only for my girfriend or close family, but several friends use it all the time.
