How does this translate? And does anyone know this book? Where can I find the whole story?

There are several preterite tense verbs in the story, but you didn't translate them correctly. Others, you did. You're learning the preterite tense in school right now, so you should be able to determine the correct translation.

Para + infinitive = In order to + infinitive
Para solucionar = In order to resolve (solve)

Those were the answers he thought would go in the blanks (starting with Solicit). Only the last one is correct (if you remove the word he copied from your translation).

This looks like homework, so I didn't think you just wanted the answers. For the vocabulary you didn't know, all you need is a dictionary to come up with the correct translation. The one verb you didn't recognize is pretty easy to guess (it has a preterite ending, just like the rest of the verbs). The verbs need translated into the past tense instead of the present.
