Mesa de despacho

I used to think that an office desk is always escritorio. It looks like the things are more complicated than that. What exactly is escritorio (or mesa)?

An "escritorio" and a "mesa de despacho" are the same. The latter just being a more descriptive name, and the other a more common term. :)

A "despacho", in this context, is an office where you conduct business. The desk in this office is where you talk to clients and sign documents. ;)
