What is the term for “medical leave/sick leave” that is used in Mexico?

I am speaking of the extended time away from work that is permitted and protected by the company for illness and/or injury.

Dictionaries show:

Baja por enfermedad
Incapacidad
Licencia por enfermedad
Licencia médica
Permiso por enfermedad

More specifically, what is the best way to say, “Marisol is on medical leave/sick leave”, if I were in Mexico and needed to say this?

And, of course, after getting an answer to this, I will be asking how "maternity leave" is said in Mexico.

If you're covered by the public health services, you say "incapacidad".
- Juan está de incapacidad.
- Tengo incapacidad hasta el 2 de abril.
- Tramitaron su incapacidad para que pueda ir a terapia.


For non-public insurance or medical services, it may be called "licencia médica", "permiso médico", "permiso por enfermedad", "ausencia por enfermedad"...
In conversation, people may say:
- Juan no vino; está de permiso. (The cause is not mentioned or it doesn't matter.)
- María está enferma. No va a venir hoy.
- Tengo licencia médica. Regreso el lunes.
- Me dieron un mes (de permiso/licencia), porque me van a operar. (Note here that the "they" in "me dieron" refers to HR, while "they" in "me van a operar" is the medical staff that will perform the surgery) ;)

"Maternity leave" is "permiso/licencia por maternidad". :)
