I'm not sure if you sentence is correct.

I think that the sentence should to be wrote so.

No mas para quitar el tiempo viejo.

It's just an usage.

I can't figure out what the word "temo" would be (more of the context would help to find the right word), but "nomás para quitar el temo viejo" would be something like "only to take/for taking the old temo away"

*"Nomás" = "solamente" = "only"

The context was that on another forum, the person was happy that a thread (like we use on Tomísimo) that she didn't like had disappeared. I translated "temo viejo as being an old thread (subject).

Ahh, thank you very much. I see that I made a typo error. It should have been "tema", not "temo". Sorry for the confusion.
