En España se hacen novillos o pellas, cuando se aunsenta uno de clase sin motivo alguno. IN BE you say play truant, but in the USA, nobody understands the expression, how do you say it in AMerica ?

Let's round up all the options:
hacer novillos (Esp)
hacer pellas (Esp)
matar clase (Mex)
irse de pinta (Mex)
to play hooky (AmE)
to do a bunk/bunk off school (BrE)
Did I miss any?

Very commonly in the USA: cut class (often done by teenagers who may show up for some classes but cut a class or two).
