What would be your intent-- what meaning are you trying to convey, when you say the phrase "Que Dios te conserve la vista, porque el oído no lo tienes muy bueno"?

Si por ejemplo cuando haces una observación sobre algo que crees que oíste o viste, y la otra persona para decir que no es cierto te suelta esa frase. Porque igual piensas que oíste una cosa y es otra, simplemte sería para decir que mal oyes o ves, pero se usa la frase entera mucho en español.

May God preserve your eyesight, for your hearing is not too good.I like this! With a slight change, it would work just fine in American English. Not only would it be understood, but it'd be a humorous (and disarming) way to say what we generally say.

Better get your ears checked. (Are you deaf, man?)
Better get your eyes checked. (Are you blind, my dear?)

Usually said in third person, I think I've heard these a number of times:
He's blind in one eye and can't see out of the other.
He's deaf in one ear and can't hear out of the other.
