IN English? When somebody is really rustic, and behaves in a funny way in the city, we say es más de pueblo que las amapolas.

Hick y rube son palabras despectivas para la gente así.
Tambien se puede decir hayseed.

no rustic as a pin doesn't make sense to me, but I thought of other terms:
yokel and yuk yuk (a newer term) have the same meaning as rube and hick. Another term is bumpkin.
Rustic is a kinder work. You can also use countrified or just plain country(but only as an adjective)

You can also say "he's from the sticks".
