I believe that the Portuguese use "gosto" to mean "I like, I fancy etc." Much easier than "me gusta"

In Spanish you acan also use it like that.

I am.

Please you don't say it anyone.

jajaja

Thank heavens for the search function!

I was taught exactly the same - only more that 'gustar' is only used in the third person!

I was beginning to think I must be imagining things on the TV. I keep hearing 'gustamos', so I looked in my 501 Spanish Verbs & that says that it's usually only used in the third person. So of course I got to thinking..............

te gustamos must mean 'you like us' - confusion solved:thumbsup:

or
We please you.

Well of course, or even we are pleasing to you, but I find 'interpretation' is usually more useful than 'translation':)

Well, for me anyway.

¿Sólo en tercera persona?
Yo les gusto a mis vecinos.
Tú le gustas a tu novio.
Él te gusta.
Nosotros le gustamos a nuestro jefe.
Vosotros le gustáis al profesor.
Ellos me gustan.

- Que aproveche.
- ¿Gustan?

Creo que no. :D

Perhap gustar is used more often in the 3rd person singular than most verbs because of constructions like

(You wont see the other forms of gustar so thats all you´ll need to know (at this moment)
