Presumably is the best choice in this case.

Thanks for lending a hand, everyone.
The contexts in which I'm encountering "se supone/suponía que" are translations of American English TV shows and movies into Spanish. The phrase's meaning, as all of you are presenting it and how I originally understood it (other than requiring the indicative), doesn't go well with the contexts I'm seeing. I think it might be being used as a common workaround but not a good translation.

Presumible: que se puede presumir (en el sentido de suponer):
Como esta carrera es tan dura, es presumible que pocos participantes queden clasificados.
En un soldado, el valor es presumible.

As this race is so hard, it is expected that few participants will finish.
In a soldier, courage is assumed.

So, it is understandable... :-)
I do not mean to be mean to no one, but stuff like that needs to be taken in consideration.

Yeah, I know... but it is so common, that just slips away. :D
Thanks for the correction, as it needs to be pointed out anyway.
