How is this first example "effective"?
"The payment will be made effective in monthly instalments"Yes, sorry, it sort of makes little sense as an example because 'effective' is wrong as inserted above. It says something like 'the payment will be effected in the form of monthly instalments', but you can't use 'effective' :thinking:

@Perikles: Sorry... I've seen "The payment will be made effective..." used many times in contracts with foreign enterprises or institutions. There are quite a few wrongly translated documents around the world with that formula. :thinking:
