when we go to have our blood drawn, we are usually required to go " en ayunas", that menas without having taken any food or liquids. How do we say en ayunas in this particular case, because on an empty stomach can be used in multiple contexts. Is there a specific expression for this particular situation.
Can anybody set an example.

I'm going to get my blood drawn and have to fast.
Go fasting to your next appointment, please. That is correct, but in the UK there seems to be a policy of reducing all such instructions to the very lowest common denominator, so for the benefit of those who don't know the word fast they would say
Do not eat or drink anything for 8 hours before your appointment.
Not much use if you don't know the word appointment, but there we are.
