"Cómo se ganaban la vida en España Tulio y Miguel?"
What is this question asking me in English?
I looked up ganar, which is "to win"
But to me the sentence still doesn't make sense, as it would just be "How did they win life in Spain..."
Please explain!
Gracias por su ayuda.

Ganar also means to earn, (to earn their living...)

@lilia: Chileno's answer is correct.
"Ganarse la vida" is an idiom to talk about what people do for a living.
