How do I translate, "to bold some text"?

My attempt:
poner el texto en negritas
obscurecer el texto

I'm a little hesitant about using "poner el texto en negritas" you never know if the PC crowd is going to be offended here in North America and since I'm translating for a school district, I need to be very careful.

Thank you

Desafortunadamente asi se dice. No hay razón para que nadie se ofenda.

@lblanco: Elaina is right. The typographic word for "bold text" is (letras) "negritas" or "negrillas", so nobody should be offended.

"Poner el texto en negritas/negrillas" is correct.
"Oscurecer el texto" would need some thinking before figuring out what you mean.

agree with both. "poner en negrita/negrilla"
RAE
letra
~ negrilla, o ~ negrita.
1. f. La gruesa que se destaca de los tipos ordinarios, resaltando en el texto.
Saludos :D

Here I will leave my attempt.

To bold some texts.

It could means ( Algunos textos en negritas or remarcadas)
That it in the second phrase could be interpreted as.
Some texts highlighted.:)

Angelica - this might be a good launching point for a "Vocabulary by topic". Something like "word processing terms" or something. Vocabulary to be included: bold, italic, margins, tabs, tables, lists, bullets, page break, column, etc..........
