Maybe it's an issue of textual criticism?After the description of three sexes, the third being spherical, The Plato text reads (I'm translating directly) that Zeus cuts the third spherical human (anthropos) into two "as you split oa into two before pickling them" This oa is given by LSJ as the plural of oon, the fruit of the service-tree Sorbus domestica, the sorb-apple. Note that the human is not compared with that fruit, only the method of dissection is, i.e. vertically downwards.

What about " My cup of tea" for mi media naranja.Not really - media naranja seems to indicate the one and only 'other half'. You would use 'my cup of tea' for something you clearly prefer, but on a less fundamental level, such as a type of music or a particular sport.
