I know "darse el pisto"
RAE darse pisto.
1. loc. verb. coloq. Darse importancia. to emphasise oneself, to magnitude oneself

"tirarse el pisto" then means saying something important is done by me....

"mira, ayer ganó en la bolsa y se está dando/tirando el pisto, a pesar de que se arriesgó mucho..."

Typical in Madrid , place where I come from.

Por Ejemplo "Tirate el pisto e invítate a unas cervezas"
"¿ No me dejas 5 euros ? ¡Anda y tírate el pisto ! "

Means " be cool" in the sense of being generous like " be a good buddy" or " behave good with me"

Nothing to do with "Pisto" alone , which is a typical Spanish food made of tomatoes , peppers and spices.
