I agree with what you wrote about in regard to Chicago. I really think Pilsen in Chicago is a nice urban space and a good gateway to Mexican culture without being touristy like San Antonio. I don't know if you've been to LA, but I've been there a couple of time and saw no good urban space there for the Mexican community except for a tiny street called Olivera Street which is really overrun with tourists, and it's way too crowded. Chicago rules.(but not in the winter)
