hello Rusty, I'm Vu 23, from VietNam. I have just begun to study Spanish. Please give me some advices. In Vietnam, not many people study Spanish. So I may be easier for me to make friend to one who has experience of it. Just give me some advices for the beginner. I really appriciate it. Thank you Rusty.

Thank you for the clear explanation regarding vamos - vamanos - vayanos
I learned Spanish in Europe back in the 70s and worked in the South of Spain for a while but did not remember ever hearing the vamanos/vayanos until I came to Texas.
I always thought it was a Mexican thing (as differentiating Latin American Spanish to Castillian Spanish)

Rusty, whew! Just got done translating all those idioms I posted yesterday, hating to see them stay un-translated. Hope it was alright to render only the sense of them rather than what they literally say. Is it alright to do the same with others not yet translated, or do the Moderators prefer literal translations? As you can see, my favorites are those that rhyme. Thanks for your patience with this beginner! Glen

I'm not sure if you'd cover this in your response, but is the << >> the correct way to quote from a passage in Spanish?
