Hi there! Our english is not that different, it's a bit of a mixture between american english and british english... as a former british colony, australia has always been heavily influenced by british english (I for example use british english spellings) but as american culture is so pervasive we have adopted many "americanisms" as well... Of course, we have our own "special" expressions that may not be understood very well by the brits and the americans, but basically, there's not that much difference.
