I can't believe I actually didn't see those errors :P

Sometimes you might wish people would just tell you what your mistakes are, but when you have to struggle through something on your own, it actually helps you retain what you are learning better.

Keep up the good work.

As I said, I am slowly adding some sentences to my journal...Here are more.

English: We plan to go to New York, if there is time. We might go, but we may not go either. Most likely we are staying home. I do not know if we are going out somewhere. Even if we do, I don't know where.

Spanish: Pensamos ir a Nueva York, si hay tiempo. Podemos ir, pero no podemos. Lo más probable es que nos quedamos a casa. No sé si vamos a alguna parte. Incluso si lo hacemos, no sé donde.

As usual, check for errors. Thanks! :)

Spanish: Pensamos ir a Nueva York, si hay tiempo. Puede o no que vayamos. Lo más probable es que nos quedamos en casa. No sé si vamos a salir a alguna parte. Incluso si lo hacemos, no sé a dónde.

Suggestions above.

woah...which way should I follow? Rusty's or Crotalito's??

CrOtALiTo December 12, 2008 06:41 PM

Both answers are correct, but they are different.

Jessica December 12, 2008 06:45 PM

okay...I went for Rusty's way, though. I will have a look at yours again. :)

CrOtALiTo December 12, 2008 07:40 PM

Ok, I haven't problem with that, if you want the Rusty's answer, then you have good luck.

Rusty December 12, 2008 08:37 PM

Crotalito found a mistake I didn't see. When you use lo más probable, you must use the subjunctive mood, so quedemos en casa is correct.

Translate what both of us wrote and decide which one fits your experience with the language better. You'll have some difficulty trying to follow the second sentence I wrote, but Crotalito kept it more simple. I believe my version is an accurate translation of what you wrote in English, but your teacher would expect to see stuff you've already learned in your story, ¿no?

Crotalito forgot to include the preposition a that must follow the verb ir. When speaking, the sound that the preposition makes blends into the next word (because it starts with the same sound), so that may be why he forgot to include it.

CrOtALiTo December 12, 2008 11:43 PM

Yes, Rusty my it was a accurate answer, I didn't make some mistakes in my correction of the Jchen's post, but she decided uses the your answer, Rusty, and well I don't know as she need translate the answer, but I know that you have made your endeavor in help her , and I respect your opinion, I don't understand the part where you say, I forgot something in the post.

Jessica December 13, 2008 07:57 AM

okay I will write both

cmon December 13, 2008 04:33 PM

Is this correct?

It's possible that we might go, but then again, we might remain at home.
Es posible que podamos ir, pero por otra parte, quizá(s) nos quedemos en casa.

Jessica December 13, 2008 06:45 PM

Here are more...

English: If we are remaining home, we will probably clean the house. Mom or I will vacuum the floor and Mom might wash the clothes in the basement. We aren't inviting anyone because our house is too messy and we don't have time.

Corrections above.;)

ok but wouldn't the limpiemos actually be limpiamos? That's how I learned it as, limpiar in the nosotros/as form
Also, for the "mi mama y yo..." we both aren't vacuuming...it's either me or my mom. and for lavar la ropa, only my mom is doing it.

CrOtALiTo December 13, 2008 08:05 PM

Please you check your post in Spanish, you have mistakes, I know Spanish, please if you want other translate, you must write the text also in English.

Jessica December 13, 2008 08:17 PM

yes I know that, but besides limpiemos and limpiamos (I always thought it was limpiamos) I wanted to say that either me or my mom is going to vacuum the floor, and for washing the clothes, my mom is doing that job.

CrOtALiTo December 14, 2008 04:47 PM

Sometimes I don't understand you Jchen, you are a person hard to try.
