Yo no creo que "vos" venga de "vosotros", sino del tratamiento de vos que se utilizaba en España cuando se hablaba castellano antiguo:

Castellano antiguo: Vos, señor, sois el rey y yo vuestro lacayo.

Castellano moderno: Usted, señor, es el rey y yo su lacayo.
