Yeah, when I was younger, I would have. But as I have gotten older, I have gotten more rules-oriented. (Can't even believe it's ME saying THAT!) If they have a rule about always being with others from the group and they ask that the professor in charge always knows where everyone is, I'll probably be the most likely person to follow said rule......... I'll try to convince the professor that I am well traveled and if I could travel all over poor sections of Nairobi on public transportation by myself, I think I can get myself between Belgrano and the teatro Colón without mishap. It might be a question of the Virginia university's insurance liability if something were to happen to me........

ookami May 14, 2010 04:38 PM

I'm sure that with two words the teacher will let you go even if you formaly can't. But I think is imposible that you have all the time organized in group activities, you will likely have free time all days.
poli what do you think, sincerely, of the public transport we have here?

laepelba May 14, 2010 08:14 PM

It's not a question of whether we have free time or not. We will definitely have free time. It's that the university (in Virginia) will not allow its students to do things alone. They will require us to be with other students from the same program all the time. If I want to go to the opera, I'd have to find someone else willing to go with me....

Oh, I'm getting sick of the World's Cup euphoria and it has not even begin!

AngelicaDeAlquezar May 28, 2010 03:12 PM

@Ookami: You're not the only one. I've turned off the TV, but there is no escape the attack through the internet too.

Esperar May 28, 2010 03:13 PM

Well I follow my national team, so I will be watching it, but I'm not as big a fan of football as I used to be.

laepelba May 28, 2010 05:11 PM

Oh, come to the US. You have to go in search of it around here. It can be found, but you have to seek it.

Esperar May 28, 2010 07:09 PM

Wasn't it like that when you hosted the tournament in 1994?

CrOtALiTo May 28, 2010 07:16 PM

Certainly Mexico team didn't win this time upon Holland.

It's a poor for the Mexican people who they hope have a great game the next time.

*Small tip. Holland can also be called the Netherlands too! You can use either though, so don't worry. :)

I had never even heard of the World Cup until after 1994. No joke. I only heard of it when I moved to the Washington, DC area and started teaching students of Latin American descent. That was in 1996. And I didn't understand the big deal....

I LOVE the Superbowl. It's not about the game. It's about the commercials!! :dancingman:
