Interesting. That means that Sweden has colder winters than Iceland... Generally, the winter temperatures in the north can go under -30 degrees. The record is -53°C, though that is extreme temperatures. But then again I guess it's understandable that Iceland is warmer, surrounded by a warm sea and hot volcanos. :);)

You who live in countries with those extreme temperatures could open a thread to explain how you live in your countries in winter. This could be a very interesting thread. :)

Yes, there are a wide range of temperatures from winter to summer here, too. But that's a different thing that living somewhere with such temperatures below 0ºC. Here is common to be between 0 and -5ºC in winter, but once, years ago, we were about -15ºC for a week, more or less. The pipes freezed continously and the water fell over the street and quickly it froze; people didn't use their cars and it was very dangerous go into the bus, since I saw several of them slipping. I had ice inside of the windows (they were simple windows) and I used to sleep dressed. I can't think what kind of life must have people living between -40º - -50ºC.

Yes I'm agree with you, you have said, it's different some place where the temperature isn't very variable instead of other places the temperature is always of the like way.
