I have a question for you

Highlight meaning poner de manifiesto.

I hope your answer soon because I need to write this in my own dictionary.:rolleyes:

Post #2 has the translation of poner de manifiesto.

CrOtALiTo April 21, 2009 11:15 PM

I got it.

So;
"This data highlights the perfect capacity this company posses for . . . " ?

I'd interpret that as "Puts in writing" (figuratively); would "Makes evident" "Makes concrete" "Proves" etc. all be synonyms?

Ah, if it's the verb manifest, I'd interpret the phrase as "put into existence" which also makes sense in the above situation (though pretty much means the same thing).

La cantidad de muertes pone de manifesto la importancia de seguro automotor.

I wouldn't say put into existance, rather expose it, as being evident...

I would say highlight means destacar, to put something out to everybody's sight...aunque tambien podria usarse asi, pero no me suena mucho, porque yo me sueno solo.... sabes? :D

Sí. Tus interpretación está más mejor porque no se crea algo. Se muestra algo.

About whatever it's highlighting, of course. :)
