I thought it was English! :D In Spanish I'd say "apodo" or "alias" ;) (though in forums we say nick)

Well, Laepelba has answered correctly. :rose:

I guess it is correct in American English, and perhaps used on the internet, but I have never heard it in British English, always nickname.

laepelba October 17, 2009 10:51 AM

I've actually never heard it used in American English. I just know that Jessica changed her nickname recently, and it was probably easier for Irma to type "Nick"....

I asked David to change it from jchen to Jessica ;)

laepelba October 17, 2009 01:59 PM

Yeah, but how did your TEST go????

Cloudgazer October 17, 2009 03:46 PM

¡Sí! ¿Cómo salió el examen?

Jessica October 17, 2009 05:48 PM

I don't think I did too well on the Critical Reading section. It's not my favorite part. I'm sure I did well on the math and writing section (no essays in this test, only in SATs)

laepelba October 17, 2009 06:21 PM

You'll have to let us know when you get the results! :)

irmamar October 18, 2009 12:26 AM

In Spanish forums we say "nick". I thought you did, too

Jessica, what are you asked about in a Critical Reading section?

I'm sorry for my ignorance, but I don't know that is a SAT's, it at least in my country seems more a Hacienda publica.

I'm glad that you had gone very well in the last test Jchen, you should address more your attention in the public when you have more event above this kind.

Congratulations again.

Jessica October 18, 2009 05:02 PM

It's a commonly used abbreviation for "nickname" in English online forums and IRC, too.
