My Kindle

María José March 29, 2010 02:43 AM

My Kindle

I am a book lover and when some of the students in my book club told me they read the assigned book in an electronic gadget of some kind I was horrified.
However, a month ago or so, I decided to buy an Amazon Kindle and now... I'm in love.
When I wrote to my students to tell them about my purchase, one of them sent an email back that said 'Welcome to the dark side'.:D
And I have to say my feet have been firmly planted on that dark side ever since ...

I have a nice book and comic "real" bibliotec, but I'm sure I will go into the dark side when the prices are less expensive. Then you will be my master :D :D

Questions:

It looks like you wanted to say ..."nice book and comics...), or were you referring to "funny"

Biblioteca = library.

;)

What about getting a paper round or something like that to save on your own?

I love the idea of the Kindle.I don't link to keep a lot of books around because my space is limited, and I understand you can store many books on the neat little device and delete the ones you hate. The negative is that nobody can ever tell what another person is reading when on the bus or subway when they use a Kindle. I'm always curious.

The I-Pad just may take the place of the Kindle though.

Ha! I hadn't thought about that...But you can always ask...;) Might get you some weird stares, though.:yuck::crazy:
About the space...you are right (Kindle can hold up to 1,500 books), but the thing is I still love looking at my shelves full of colourful paperbacks...
:)

I like bookstores more than websites that sell books. I like the way books
(new books) smell.

Hi Jessica!

If you didn't know what "idk" meant, then why did you write it?:crazy::lengua::D

I'm afraid I can't get my head round the new technologies they change so fast. You no sooner buy a new gismo than it replaced by something cheaper and better. I still have boxes of 78 rpm records, reel to reel tapes, casettes, and video tapes which I can no longer use. At least the book has been a stable format since the invention of the printing press!
The other plus is that you don't need batteries to read a book!!
