Lucirse se usa para que alguien demuestre su talento, o como hacer algo bien. In English?

Mothers here use "Lúcete" to tell their children they're showing a behaviour that is not acceptable in front of people that don't belong to the family. (Very threatening expression, btw.)

I knew it was a hint, but I tell you sth I have thousand but sometimes they are too formal, it´s not what people use in the street. And that´s what really interests me.
