To My Dear and Loving Poem

Jessica February 10, 2011 03:08 PM

To My Dear and Loving Poem

la tarea de inglés

To My Dear and Loving Poem
At a desk I think with a pen.

I look at the time; it’s half past ten.

I have to think of what else to write,

Before the clock says, “It’s midnight!”

I will treasure this poem for years to come,

And I don’t care what it’s like to some.

I really like this poem very much,

And I wonder whom else it shall touch.

I will keep this poem because it’s treasure,

I will read it again and again just for pleasure.

I think now it’s time for an end,

I’m going to create a new email then press send.

I need to have at least one sentence inversion. Would the first line be considered that?

Caballero February 10, 2011 03:59 PM

Wow, you're really good at poetry! I couldn't write something like that.

I think anyone can create a poem if they have some sort of creativity. also the lines doesn't have to rhyme. my poem had to (requirement), but not all poems rhyme, right?

:S

Right.

Roses are Red
Violets are Blue
Some verse rhymes
But this one doesn't

I'm not too sure about the title of your poem, it doesn't sound like meaningful English to me. Loving poem?

:idea:Maybe Poem is an overly-creative parent's name for their child or a pet's name.
It is capitalized afterall.
Think outside the box Perii:lol:

That expression is actually worse than "Have a Nice Day"

poli February 17, 2011 06:20 AM

Especially if you're a victim of it.
Take care.:)

That reminds me: To my dear and loving husband, by Bradstreet. ;)

Roses are red violets are blue
son rimas frecuentamente empalagosas y muy comunes en que la cuarta
linea termine con una palabra que rima con blue.

Ejemplo:
rosas are red
violets are blue
sugar is sweet
and so are you.

No se si en español existen formularios para rimas así.
Lo que escribió PeriKles es un buen chiste porque no rima.
Todos los anglófonos que conozco están acostumbrado
oirlo terminar con una rima.

I don't believe so. It only has a phrase at the beginning, but noun-verb order is still the same. I posted a couple links below that could help and give you ideas.

Hey, I really like your poem, it's very beauty and a little funny n.n
And, yes, I think you're right: Anyone can create a poem.

You seem like a very nice person with those thinkings ^_^

You can write a poem (or anything) by hand, you don't need a computer. :D

Any one can write a poem, you say?

Write about an empty word
or a world that is absurd;
or a meaningless jargon
to describe someone unknown

Use an inkless pen
to express an empty feeling.
Rid oneself of this gall,
communicate to all.
