Do you use this expression for people who aren't paying attention, as if they must like to hear things over and over (but certainly not flattery)?

The other day my brother asked me where I was going? It was my time for acupunture. He knows I go to the acupunturist every Tuesday at 10 30. And he still asked where I was going. Then I told him, why don´t you think a little bit, te gusta que te regalen el oído. That´s the context it used in my region.
