Is it time to go home yet?
How would we translate the tongue-in-cheek expression "Is it time to go home yet?", meaning "Can we please go home, now?".
I made a literal translation of: ¿Es hora de volver a casa todavía? But no Google results match this. Would you typically just ask the direct question: ¿Podemos volver a casa? I'm basically just trying to make it clear I want to leave, without using those exact words :) A similar way of making it clear I'm hungry, without just saying I'm hungry: ¿Es hora de comer todavía? (Is it dinner time yet?) Is there a typical construction that portrays this feeling in Spanish? |
I think your sentences would work better with "ya" (already) rather than "todavía" (still).

Good tip, thanks! :)
