National Spanish Exam
Tomorrow I'll be taking the National Spanish Exam. First time I'm taking it. I didn't take it the last 3 years :S
anyways I hope I do okay, because that could be good for college or whatever. If I get a really good score (I think 70% or higher), I can even earn prizes. but I doubt I'll do really good I think I'll be okay on the Achievement Part. That part has questions on por and para, subjunctive, imperfect and preterit - vocabulary and grammar. I DEFINITELY know I will NOT do well on the Proficiency. That part consists of Listening and Reading, which are probably my weakest points. Especially listening. I've tried some practice tests for the Listening part, but the problem is the people talking in the audio talk too fast and a lot of times I can't distinguish what they are saying. My teacher always says that each four choices are mentioned in each audio even though only one is correct, and that makes it even more complicated |
Good luck! :)
With regards to the listening, you really just have to spend a lot of time doing it subconsciously in order for it to become easier. Listen to an online radio station (with news and interviews) while you're working, for example, listen to lots and lots of music, and try to watch TV/movies etc when you can. It really takes a long time for your ears to become familiar with the sounds as an adult. I'm not entirely sure why this is, but I actually find that I understand Spanish (and Italian for that matter) better when I'm half asleep. Often I'll listen on my iPod while I'm going to sleep at night. Maybe it's because I'm in a completely relaxed state and I'm not listening to each every words, but more the general sense of what's being said. |
Good luck! :crossfingers: :)

got the scores today. 71% on Proficiency and 70% on Achievement. can you believe I did better on Proficiency? (Reading and Listening). that's an 80 percentile, and I'm probably going to get a bronze medal

Well done! :applause:

Woohoo. Congrats!

¡Fenomenal!
¡Muy bien hecho! |
Hello Jessica.
I hope you are fine ultimately! How was the proof of your test applied before? I'd like to know the result of the test. Sincerely yours. |
