Speak only in Spanish
Which of the two statements below is more correct to say: "From this day forward, I want you to (speak or talk) to me only in Spanish."
1. Desde este día adelante le quiero que hablar conmigo en español solamente. 2. A partir de este día adelante le quiero a hablar conmigo sólo en español. |

Well, taking your examples above I would make the following corrections: -Desde este día en adelante, quiero que hable/hables (or plural) hablen conmigo solo en español. -A partir de este día (OR) De hoy en adelante, quiero que me hables solo en español. I hope this helps. ;) |
Speak only in Spanish
Elaina,
Why must you say "en adelante" and not just "adelante" |

I agree with Elaina, I want to add that it will sound more natural when you use the third option she gave you: "De hoy en adelante.......".
It's the usual way we say it. Perikles' explanation is correct, of course. ;) |
