Subjunctive exercise 7-11
Two specific questions about this one.
#5) Sentence in the book: Pero, me preguntas, si no existieran/hubiera coches, pues, ¿cómo podría la gente ir al trabajo o, lo que es más, viajar largas distancias en poco tiempo? My question: The book gave both verbs (in red) as the two possible answers. I had written "fuera". Is this also correct? #20) Sentence in the book: Para que la situatción se resuelva, los políticos tendrán que escuchar a los científicos y al pueblo cuando vota a favor de sistemas eficientes. My question: I wrote "vote" (subjunctive). Why is this given as indicative? Thank you for any help you can give me.... |
5) You were probably thinking in English "there is/are". "Haber" and "existir" are the right verbs to deal with existence.
20) The sentence is -more than a bit- confusing, but you have two options: a) people is not voting that way, but they would do in the future ---> "cuando vote a favor de sistemas eficientes" b) people is voting that way and politicians don't listen thought they shall if they want things solved in the future---> "cuando vota a favor de sistemas eficientes" |
Okay, all of that makes perfect sense to me. Thanks, Alec!! :rose:
