So...This is CobaltStymie...Hello...

Hello. I joined this forum to increase my understanding of the Spanish language. My understanding of the language right now is... less than fluent.

I am a tall brown skinned man living in south texas. I have a bit of a paunch, which I owe to the many carbohydrates I have imbibed in my life time. I have dark eyes and dark hair.

I can trace my ancestry to Spain, on both sides of my family tree, proving once again that appearances are deceiving. Alas, I was born in america, and English is my native language.

They say that learning another language, such as Spanish, opens up many doors to people. I agree. But while I most definitely would enjoy the opening up of doors, I also would enjoy the learning of the language for its own sake. Meeting others and traveling to other countries is most stimulating as well.

Avoiding the shameful appellate of some ignorant youth calling myself a "coconut", however, is most definitely going to relieve me of a great burden of stress, just as much as learning the shameful derogatory terms of Mexico, Argentina, Peru, and Spain, will prove just too much fun. Even if it is a simple joy.

Well, I am happy to be here. I suppose I should demonstrate my Spanish abilities. Here goes:

¡Hola Amigos! ¿Como están ustedes? Hace muy calor aquí, pero me gusto mucho. Esta mañana, ya me voy al restaurante con el caro de mi hermanita. Se permite que me usar, pero hoy solamente.

I believe is great that you want to opening up of many doors in when you have studying Spanish, it's the same to me, because since I know the English language some doors have opened for me, already all the in my carer is spoken in English.

I hope you can reach your goals.

Sincerely yours.
