Un berenjal tal y como está el patio

Does this mean the house is not in order?

berenjenal = (slang) a mess | a pickle | a jam

tal y como está el patio = (roughly) with things the way they are | given the mess we're in | given the messy state we're in

Both of them together means you've got a major mess, I would think.

Berenjenal : Something very complicated you've got into, and now you have to solve the problem .

Happens very often in my job , if I disconnect all cables from an electrical enclosure ( or cabinet ? ) that's a berenjenal , because now you gotta get out of the situation.
Tal y como está el patio is "in the current situation"

¡ Cómo está el patio ! : "What a mess ! " or can also be said when you are at a place where there are many beautiful girls.

In English, a similar term is quagmire or deep weeds. Deep weeds refers to a boating. When a boat gets stuck in deep weeds, it's a problem. I'm not sure these two terms relate to a group of beautiful women however.
