Payment Terms Sentence

Thank you for taking the time to help me. I am trying to say the following sentence in Spanish:

"Actually, payment is due 30 days after the invoice date. For example, if the invoice date is November 17th, payment is due December 17th."

Here's my Spanish:

"Actualmente, pagar es debida 30 dias despues de la fecha de la factura. Para ejemplar, si una fecha de una factura es Noviembre 17, el pagar es debido Diciembre 17th."

Please correct my Spanish and tell me what I did wrong. I am really trying to learn Spanish.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forums!

Your attempt at translation is appreciated but certainly needs 'tweaking'. There's more to translation than looking up a word and slapping it in a sentence using English grammar rules and conventions. ;)

actualmente = presently, currently, now
realmente; en realidad; de hecho = actually

pagar = paying (when used as a noun, as you did)
pago = payment

debido = proper (due), like due course (proper course)
efectuar = due (make payment)
hacer el pago = make a payment

ejemplar = specimen, copy, issue (of a book)
ejemplo = example
por ejemplo = for example

The names of the months in Spanish are not capitalized. The day is written prior to the name of the month.

Here is my translation attempt:
(En realidad,) se debe efectuar el pago a los 30 días de la fecha de factura. Por ejemplo, si la fecha de factura es el 17 de noviembre, se hará el pago el 17 de diciembre.

Thanks so much for your help. So, "se debe efectuar" means "you should make" as in (you should make payment......) ???

And when you say "se hará el pago el 17 de diciembre." does "se hara" mean "you should" ??

Thank you

The 'you' in your translations is impersonal (it's not directed at any particular person), so that is the reason we use 'se' in Spanish.

Se debe efectuar = one (you) should make (the payment)
Se hará (note the accent mark) = one (you) will make (3rd-person, future indicative tense of hacer)

Realmente, el pago se vence 30 days después de la fecha de la factura/de facturación. Por ejemplo, si la fecha de la factura es el 17 de noviembre, el pago se vence el 17 de diciembre.

So which one do I use? efectuar or vence ?? Are they just two options for the same word?

What Rusty suggested means "you should make" or "you should pay, should be paid" etc. And he told you so.

efectuar = to effect/to make

due = vence/debe

My attempt put the emphasis on making the payment, while chileno is using the same language you did in the original post (is due | falls due).

There's more than one way to skin a cat. ;)
Here are other ways to write it:

El pago vence 30 días después de la fecha de la factura.
El pago vence 30 días después de la fecha de la facturación.
