"It is more common"

A Spanish pen-pal of mine who is learning English, as I learn Spanish asked me how to say a certain word in English. It is a Spanish word that has many words in English, so I want to say
"It is more common to use ... "
How would I say THAT sentence in Spanish? I know it would be
Is 'común' the correct word I would use for 'common' and also would I use 'utilizar' or would I conjugate?

más = more
común = common
usar/utilizar = to use

Usar/Utilizar _____ es más común.
Es más común usar/utilizar _____.
Se usa más _____.
_____ se usa más.
