Ejercer una profesión
English?
To practise/practice
In the US we commonly say "to practice a profession", "to practice medicine/dentistry", and "to practice law".
In the UK, we use practice for the noun, and practise for the verb, the verb retaining the link with Medieval Latin practizare (= to practise medicine). A doctor still works in a medical practice. Somewhere along the way, the stress changed from practíse to práctise, but I think I might be over-explaining here. :)
