HI Lar69 I'm new myself but you seem to be off to a good start. I'm jealous of your spanish! I was able to read a few words and understand. I also picked up on some words that I knew but did not know how to spell. Ojala I did not know and I'm curious as to why you used "He" and not "Yo" I should ask that on another section of the forums but we are all here to learn so maybe you or someone else can explain that since I don't really know much spanish.

¡Bienvenido*a*Tomisimo! :)

Hi there Mikemacabre!
Thanks for the comment!
he, ha, has, hamos and han are forms of the verb haber....

he comido/hablado
I have eaten/spoken

ha=you have she has or you in the formal have....
has=you (familiar) have
hamos= we have....
han=they have....

it is the present perfect subjunctive tense
I hope that makes sense and that I am correct i my explanation!

Ojala is a word derived from arabic used in spanish today....
Ojala que= I hope that...

Take care!!!!
Cuidate!!!

There's an 'Accents' drop-down menu located just above where you enter text. You can use it to insert all the special characters you'll need to type in Spanish.

Spanish has another, much more common, way to say 'I have been (doing something) for (some amount of time). Study up on 'hace' + 'amount of time' + que + 'doing something (using the present indicative tense)'.
Hace dos años que trato de aprender español.

This is used to form the present perfect subjunctive tense in Spanish. It isn't called that in Spanish. It's the preterite perfect compound form of the verb. It uses the present tense conjugation of 'haber', followed by a past participle.
I hope that makes sense and that I am correct in my explanation!

Cuídate!!!

The phrase ojalá que is always followed by a dependent phrase cast in the subjunctive mood.

Welcome to the forums, by the way!
