May day

May day

Today is May Day in the United States, although I'm not really sure what it's supposed to celebrate. As far as I know, May first is Labor day in Mexico and Spain. Is this right? Is May 1st Labor day in any other countries?

I believe... May 1st.
Día del Trabajo -- in Mexico
Día del Trabajador -- in Spain

In the US, Labor day is celebrated in September.

Here is what Wiki says about May 1:

I use Wikipedia a lot, but somehow I never think to go there first :o

In Spain, the most common is Primero de Mayo, fiesta del trabajo, but nobody works!

Here in Spain we celebrate everything by not working. Aren't we clever?:p
