A typo in this dialogue?
A (female): Éstas son de pollo, y éstas de queso.
B (male): Quiero una de pollo, y una de queso. I'm studying a small dialogue and the male says una... shouldn't it be uno? |
No, it is written correctly. Have a look at what the female is saying. The demonstrative pronoun 'estas' (no accent needed) stands for something that is feminine and plural.
I would venture a guess that she's talking about 'enchiladas'. The male is using a pronoun, too. Since he only wants 'one' of each kind, he uses the pronoun 'una'. This matches the gender of the items being offered by the female. If you substitute the nouns (and determiners) instead of using the pronouns, I think it'll become more clear. Estas enchiladas son de pollo y estas enchiladas son de queso. Quiero una enchilada de pollo y una enchilada de queso. |
It was empanadas but yea I understand now. So if it was something that was masculine .. I can't think of anything off the top of my head but She would of said 'estos' and he would of said 'uno de'... right? The only mistake was the accent which I'm glad you mentioned that cause I would of gone on with it.
