Burn-up-the-highway

Burn-up-the-highway

It is just all superconcentrated, burn-up-the-highway.

I see Elton John's lyrics reading,
Burn up the highway but before you run.

But my contexts is as above...

What is the meaning of burn up the highway ?

In context, "burn up the highway" appears to be something which "run" refers back to. Therefore instead of the literal "quemar la carretera" I think that "burn" must be a metaphor for "race" and "up the highway" is the direction of travel.

I wonder whether "burning rubber" for "driving very fast" was in the songwriter's mind.

Right.

Quote:

You can cheat the devil and slice a piece of the sun
Burn up the highway but before you run
You gotta love someone

Creo que en el contexto de la canción, "burn up the highway" simplemente se refiere a la capacidad de correr a gran velocidad. :)
