Is the architecture of Buenos Aires still dominated by Spanish colonial styles?

If not, what type of architecture dominates today?

It has very little in the form of Spanish colonial architecture in Buenos Aires. There is a notable Belle Epoch presence throughout the city. In 1940 Buenos Aires must have been a truly beautiful place. Unfortunately there was a building boom in the mid-20th century which is, at best, nondiscript. I'm afraid this poor architecture dominates. There is a small attractive 21st century building boom at the waterfront with quite a few skyscrapers.
