Using the verb "Disponer"

Using the verb "Disponer"
 

I was scouring through some practice sentences and came across this verb in the sentence:

Esta biblioteca dispone también de una sección de literatura infantil.

This library also has a section of childrens literature

Is this the most common verb to use in this context? It seems the way that "has" is used in this sentence would be pretty common to come across, but I have never seen this verb before. Is tener useable in this particular context?

Although I am sure we use it as "to have", I would say that it means "to put/place (at your service/disposal)"

"Tener" is OK. "Disponer de" sounds more formal.

In the example given, dispone seems the the English to have at its disposition.

The library also has at its disposition a selection of children's literature.
