Hello from Kansas
Hello, My name is Roy.
It is my intention to learn Spanish. I had a year of it in High School eons ago, and retained none of it. The rest of the developed world, (and many of the other areas) require their students to learn a second language, and I feel inadequate. I am definitely starting from scratch and welcome any suggestions to help get me going. Thank you |
Welcome to the forums, Roy!
There are several ways to start learning, depending on whether you want to (a) learn on your own at home, (b) take a class offered by someone locally, or (c) hire a private tutor. You might start by visiting both your local library and your local bookstore to see what they have for self-teaching materials for Spanish. If your local bookstore doesn't have much, you can search on Amazon or look for foreign-language bookstores, especially bookstores that have an on-line presence such as Shoenhof's. Other forum members can tell you which beginner's self-teaching methods they think are good: I never used them, as I took classes in high school and college, and the only self-teaching materials for Spanish that I've ever used were geared to advanced learners. |
