I'm not sure how to translate this:

He hecho una crema y me ha salido muy grasa.

I've made a cream and... :thinking: too greasy.

(I guess you could also say it like this, right?)

Yes, but 'turned out' would roll off my tongue in this situation. With this phrasal verb, the focus is on the finished product rather than the process.
